PENTAGON 9/11 Memorial, Washington DC, USA (Competition Jury Selection, Semi-Finalist)
1,100 entries were submitted for the first phase of a two-stage competition organized by the US Army Corps of Engineers to identify a concept for a memorial to those who died as a result of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack on the Pentagon. The jury panel consisted of eleven distinguished Judges and one alternate, including artists, landscape architects, two former secretaries of defense and relatives of the victims. Together they selected forty-five semi-finalists. As one of the semi-finalists, our concept using optical fiber tubes and lenticular glazing was exhibited at the National Building Museum in Washington DC.
