Tokyo Lights, International Design Competition
Our design was born from the needs of the two different "scales of traffic" on either side of the street lamp, that is, the pedestrians on the sidewalk and the cars on the main street. The lower half of the lamp is dedicated to lighting the sidewalk and the top half to the street. The lamp's angle defines this function. Our goal is Chuo Dori to have a street light that no other city or area has, giving instant recognition to the neighborhood the moment one sets eyes on them.
