YUBZ's popular retro hands-free handsets for mobile phones are sold around the world and have been featured everywhere from TV shows to design magazines. When YUBZ requested us to design a new modern concept for their Bluetooth handsets, we were more than thrilled to take on the challenge.

Because the handset only functions as a hands-free device (most of the buttons are on the mobile phone), it required minimal buttons if any. This gave us lots of freedom for exploring the design.

Functionally, the idea was simply to integrate the handset with the ability to become a speaker/intercom-system (music/meetings/calls).

Still a work in progress, the concepts include WAVE; a clean wave-inspired slab which is elegant yet functional. WAVE Can be also be mounted on walls.

The second more innovative version is the TOWER; a stylish vertical handset designed with comfort/ergonomics as a top priority. Its form is born from function, reminiscent of a handle. Many studies were done on user's natural habits and how they interact when making calls. TOWER is unique and easily stands out from all competitors.
